FOTB- Crest Cafe

While Hillcrest has a variety of good restaurants, we are only interested in places that can serve up a good burger, so we made straight to Crest Cafe (http://crestcafe.net). While you may be tempted by all the other eateries and bars, make no mistake, Crest Cafe serves up a good burger.

The Food: 4/5 Stars
My first bite into the Butter Burger and my taste buds found Heaven. For $10.25, you get a half pound "stuffed with a Butter," "topped with a little more of the butter," then it's "topped with cheese," and finally that cheese is again topped. As you can see (once you wipe that drool off the screen), the Butter Burger is just an eruption of flavor. The burger comes out dripping and unfortunately, the buns can't hold the juices and everything begins to turn into a greasy mess; I hope you like the smell of the Butter Burger, because you can't wash it off your hands for a day or two. The burger was delicious, but the taste of the beef was lost in among all the spices and herbs that are in the butter. However, I have to duly note that the burger was too rich and heavy. While it tasted amazing, at the end of my burger I just sat in a comatose state. It wasn't from the size of the burger, but jsut the richness of the butter on the burger. It also affected my stomach the next day, quelling any desire for food (I hadn't thought about it, but that may be a plus-- not being able to eat so much the day after such a treat).

Multiple generations enjoying the onslaught of burgers.

The Drinks: 3.5/5 Stars
Crest Cafe offers a nice selection of beverages to choose from. Besides Budweiser, Stella Artois, and Bass, they offer a small selection of tasty beers that I have rarely seen elsewhere: Flying Dog "Old Scratch" and a Red Seal Ale. They also have a good wine selection and on Tuesdays, bottles are 50% off, so that's not too bad of an option.

The Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Stars
Crest Cafe is a cozy little diner. Which was bad, because they couldn't hold our entire party (hey, we tried to warn them...) and forced us to split into two groups. Other than that, it's comfortable, with slightly different paint (think pink and light blue tones) with for-sale photographs of nature. Really charming little spot, it makes you feel like you are at a local family run place.

Overall: 3.5/5 Stars
Crest Cafe is a nice place to take a date. It's small and comfortable, with a nice clientele, so she won't get weirded out. You can share a bottle of wine and split a Butter Burger and something else. You'll "wine and dine" her, impressing her with your find of a place, but best of all, you'll get to enjoy a burger in case she wants to eat something else.

FOTB- Hodads

We head down to Ocean Beach, “one of the last classic surfing towns in Southern California” for a review of Hodads. Drive down Newport Ave. and you’ll find yourself checking out headshops and mom-and-pop shops until you see Hodads.

The Food: 5/5 Stars
Hodads Double Bacon Cheeseburger hits it all! For $9.50, you get a monstrous burger that has great taste. The thick beef patties are cooked just right, the cheese perfectly melted, and mixed with thick slices of bacon, the flavors just meld together for a delicious explosion of taste. My mouth is watering just thinking about how good it was... You can get it loaded up with everything, and they don’t skip on the condiments, so the burger is brought out and looks as if it’s going to burst apart. It doesn’t burst, but the buns can’t withstand the punishment of so much food. The burger starts to fall apart as the buns soak in everything and begin to disintegrate, so you find yourself shoveling in the food before everything falls apart. The onion rings also merit description.

<--What we saw

The Drinks: 4/5 Stars

People who have eaten at Hodads recommend their delicious shakes. But our decision was made by our waiter; we asked what the better choice was and without hesitation, he responded, “The shakes are good, but not as good as a beer.” Hodads has a large selection of over 20 beers to choose from. Unfortunately, what it makes up in quantity, it lacks in quality—most of the options are standard fare. They do serve draft beers in mason jars- very cool!

What she saw-->

The Atmosphere: 5/5 Stars
Hodads is a small burger shop located in OB, a funky place with a lot of character. So it’s no surprise to find Hodads doesn’t lack in the character department either. Inside you’ll find that the walls are entirely covered in vanity license plates (who doesn’t love “I♥FTCHX”), keeping you entertained for your entire meal. Or if vanity plates aren’t your style, you can grab a seat that faces outside- the people who walk through OB are often as eclectic as the mix of vanity plates. Or maybe you want to eat your burger in a former VW bus, the options are all there. The staff is all really friendly and talented; I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone carry a dozen burgers at the same time before.
Overall: 4.5/5 Stars
Hodads is a “must go!” If you like awesome burgers, you need to go. Even if you are far away, but crave a delicious burger, Hodads should be on the shortlist of destinations. One warning: Hodads has been nationally recognized on Food Network and CNN.com, so don’t be shocked if you find yourself waiting in a long line (I’m all in favor of locals getting to cut ahead of foreigners, so let’s hope that we can make it happen).

FOTB- Nicky Rottens

What you've all been waiting for, help me introduce... Nicky Rottens! Nicky Rottens (http://www.nickyrottens.com/) is in downtown San Diego on 5th and Market. Being the case with everything in Downtown, good luck finding parking, you'll need it.

[Insert your own juvenile sex joke]
The Food: 5/5 Stars
Nicky Rottens burgers are awesome! Not only are they tasty, but they are big. Which confuses me... Everyone at the table kept praising these burgers, saying they were on the shortlist of best burgers, but I looked around and saw some unfinished burgers at the table. Tasty AND huge?! Yes and yes. They have some great choices for burgers, but I chose the Famous Rottens Burger, and it didn't disappoint. I heard great things about some of the other style burgers ordered, from the Stinky Burger and the Breakfast Burger. And to really test them, one buddy ordered his burger rare; apparently he says most places won't cook a burger rare, but will go medium rare-- he gave them a two thumbs up for that. Oh, and their fries are really good as well, but good luck getting to them after such a large burger.

Burger, fries, and beer! Oh my!

The Drinks: 5/5 Stars
Great selection of beers. Full Bar. Wine. Granted, I only need about 3 good beers to choose from to consider it pretty good, I totally back a place that has 3 styles of Stone on tap along with some other good offerings. I stayed away from the macrobreweries, but they're available, and cider is available for puffs out there (editor's note: London, England bartenders claim that cider is a puff's drink. They are correct). A full bar allows for shots and cocktails and wine is available. But I'd still stick to Stone, can't be beat.

The Atmosphere: 5/5 Stars
Really cool decor. The brick walls and wood floor make for a unique look that is stylish, yet not over-pretentious. Multiple levels which was a huge plus. Most burger places wouldn't be able to have seaten 20+ people, but we got an entire floor to ourselves. Really approachable and helpful staff. And yes, they are very easy on the eyes. The owner's wife, April, even called earlier in the day to make sure that I would have her number in case I needed anything.
Overall: 4.9/5 Stars
I can't score any place perfect. That is the only reason that they didn't have a flawless score. Throw in a free burger and topless waitresses and they would've gotten it (I had to come up with some negative, no matter how unrealistic). I could go on and on about all sorts of things, but I want to sum it up in one sentence. You NEED to go to Nicky Rottens. No, not tomorrow or the weekend. Right now.

FOTB- O'Brien's Pub

O'Brien's Pub (http://www.obrienspub.net/) is located on Convoy in Kearny Mesa. It's in a small shopping center with Asian eateries, so you feel quite manly eating burgers as you watch people head to their cars with Boba tea in hand. The parking lot is tiny small and people make up their own spots, so it's not the most convenient place to find parking.

The Food: 3.5/5 Stars
O'Brien's Pub serves a mean hamburger. I originally ordered the Beer Cheese Burger only to be disappointed that the waitress returned to the table and told me they were all out. Blessing in disguise! I asked what she recommended and her quick response, "Get the Southwest Bacon Burger. It's the best f*ckin' burger in San Diego." While I can't say that it was the best burger in San Diego, I can say it was a f*ckin' good burger. Reasonable size and tasty beef. It was topped with an onion ring and chipotle sauce for a little bit of spicy flavor. Mmmmm, yummy.

The Drinks: 4/5 Stars
Unbelievable beer selection! They only offer outstanding beers, ales, and Belgian style draughts. You can't go wrong unless you order Alaskan Ale (in which case, the bar patrons will give you grief about, calling it "whale piss"), but seriously, one of the best lineup of beers. A chalkboard menu, they replace choices throughout the year, but even if they didn't, they really do have a great offering of beers.

The Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Stars
O'Brien's looks like a pub. It stands out in stark contrast from all the Asian stores around it, and transports you to a completely different world. The place is a little dingy, but the low lights helped hide the dinged up wood floor and nicks all over the furniture. The tables are smaller, best suited for 2, with the outside patio being the best place to hold large groups-- which of course means they are full from the time you get there until you leave with groups of friends drinking the evening away. The waitstaff wasn't cold, but they were not friendly. One did turn up the game's volume (editor's note: if a playoff game is on, the volume should already be up for it, and not need someone to bring attention to it). The empty kegs were visible in the back next to the dart board.

Overall: 3.5/5 Stars
O'Brien's Pub's best feature was their amazing selection of beer. The burger was good and is definitely worth ordering, but this place stands apart due to it's drink menu.

FOTB- The Corner

The Corner is located, wait for it, on the corner of 10th and J in downtown San Diego. It's a block from Petco Park, so it makes it a good place to grab dinner and drink before heading over to the stadium. Like everywhere in downtown, parking isn't really available, and it only gets worse when the Padres are in town, but it just makes those bike-rickshaws look more appealing.

The Food: 3/5 Stars
The Corner offers only a couple of choices for beef burgers, but they use high-quality beef for a good taste. Unfortunately, the beef is overpowered by the condiments on the burgers. The Jalapeno Burger was good, but the spiciness of the jalapenos and serrano pepper coupled with the chipotle aioli source overshadowed the taste of the burger. The peppers' heat lingered in my mouth longer than I anticipated, so if you can't handle the heat, you need to avoid this burger. The beef taste is lost to the flavors of the peppers, but if you like spicy food, you'll love this burger. The Frontier BBQ Burger was good, with amazing bacon (thick strips of flavorful applewood bacon, those bacon strips were easily in my top 2 of favorite bacon condiment) and some onions and cheese to accompany. But, the highlight of the burger was the RedStar BBQ sauce they use. Until eating here, I never knew that good BBQ sauces could have originated in Russia. I'm posting the link, in hopes that enough people buy this delectable product and I can see some kickbacks from the owners: http://redstarbbq.com (editor's note: the author doesn't receive kickbacks from any product endorsement, but we are aware that he needs to find new ways to pay for those weekend bartabs). I must mention that the food score was negatively affected by the terrible sweet potato fries. I know I'm judging burgers here, but the sweet potoato fries they served with our burgers were inedible. I saw them bring out better fries, so I know they can serve good fries, but they need to treat all customers the same and bring out cooked food. Soggy, undercooked fries f*ckin suck.

Jalapeno Burger is muy caliente!

The Drinks: 4/5 Stars
A reasonable selection of beers on tap and in bottle, a wine list, and a full liquor bar along with specialty drinks boosts the score of The Corner. No pitchers and no amazing beer selections (other than Stone Pale Ale, which is amazing, and Fat Tire, which is also good) hold The Corner from scoring higher. The prices are normal for the downtown area, so expect beer to run $5-6 a drink, and liquor to run a little more. Or you can go for the best deal and get properly drunk with 24oz cans of PBR for $4.

The Atmosphere: 4/5 Stars
The atmosphere of The Corner is pretty hip urban. The decoration and feel of metal beams gives it a neat feel. It's a little small upstairs, but not too crowded with people that it gets overwhelming. There are TVs strategically placed, so that no matter where you sit, you are able to catch the games on. I saw some people shooting darts away from the crowds around the bar, a nice touch that allows for darts and keeps patrons safe. The waitresses all wear cute outfits, but the waitstaff is clueless-- I asked someone carrying two plates if they were for our table, he told us "no," and came back in a couple of minutes to then tell us that the plates, were in fact, ours.

Overall: 3.5/5 Stars
The Corner is a great place to start off a Padres game. Be sure to go on Tuesdays for the 2 for 1 burger special. Few things beat a free burger! Go early to grab food and drinks and shoot some darts before heading over to the stadium. The food and drink is good enough to make it a date location, but I would advise going elsewhere first. The Corner is an average place that doesn't really stand out, but it won't let you down. Don't expect to get blown away, but as long as you don't order the Hippie Burger, (yeah, I can't believe someone ordered a veggie burger, either) you won't be disappointed

FOTB- Jeff's Burger

Jeff's Burgers is tucked away in the shops at La Jolla Shores. A quick walk from the beach to 152 Avenida De La Playa in La Jolla, Jeff's Burgers has been there as long as I know. Parking is a huge problem, but then again it's always a huge problem in La Jolla (the only place that attracts more tourists than La Jolla is Disneyland... this fact may be purely anecdotal and not based on any real data).

The Food: 2.5/5 Stars
Jeff's Burgers is a simple menu, consisting mainly of burgers and gyros. Their gyros are really good, unfortunately we're here to score their burgers. Their burgers are big, which helps a lot. Their quality of meat isn't too high and that's the problem. Jeff's tastes similar to what you make in your backyard or at a picnic. It's a large hunk of average beef thrown on the grill. It doesn't taste like much of a dinner burger, but it's good on a hot summer day.

The Drinks: .5/5 Stars
With almost no drink offerings at all, Jeff's just barely earned anything in this category. Your choices include the soda fountain or a milkshake. It's a good thing that their milkshake is decent, but with such a lack of choices, it needs to be amazing. It's not.

The Atmosphere: 2/5 Stars
Jeff's Burger is walking distance to the beach, which is a big plus, but that's all it has going for it. The inside is sanitary-white: the tile floors, walls, and ceiling. I understand that it is low-maintenance. The lack of anything allows for easy washing, because all day long, people drag in sand from the beach, but just not enough attention was put into making the place look better. Also, a negative is their early closing time, which makes eating dinner there difficult; getting the boot at 7 sucks.

Overall: 2/5 Stars
It doesn't really feel fair for me to rate Jeff's Burgers to all of the other places on the list. Jeff's Burgers is in it's own microcosm. The only time I think of going to Jeff's is when I'm at the beach; I'm not giving up my parking spot, so I make the walk over and chow down. If I'm not at the beach, I never think of going to Jeff's. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but if you can't give up your parking spot to some fat, pasty Zonie, it's a good option.

FOTB- Tioli's Crazy Burger

And now for...

Tioli's Crazy Burger is a small restaurant specializing in burgers. Located at 4201 30th Street in North Park, it keeps the name Tioli in memory of the small Italian restaurant that formerly held this spot. Parking isn't too tough to come by, with a couple of street spots and a parking lot across the street.

The Food: 4/5 Stars
With one look at the menu, you realize just how many burger options there are here, with each one looking more and more appealing. With so many delectable choices, we all got a different burger, and it's a good thing we did. It seems as if you can't go wrong with any of the choices. The regular cheeseburger was just above average. It doesn't set itself apart, but then again it doesn't need to. If you come here, you order one of the special burgers. They are what give the rating 4 stars. The venison burger is slightly gamy, but it's topped with pears and bacon and a fruit jelly and DAMN, is it good. Or go for a slightly spicier taste. Order the Cajun burger and DAMN, that great taste is back. There is no reason to settle for a regular cheeseburger here, because it's not worth it. Get one of the crafted burgers, and you promise yourself you will be back to try them all.

The Drinks: 3/5 Stars
There is nothing too notable about the drink selection here. It's purely beer and wine, and not even a large selection at that. They do pride themselves on having a higher selection of beer available. You can stoop for a bottle of Bud, Miller Light, or Tecate, but don't do yourself the injustice. They have a nice selection of draft beers to choose from, mainly German beers mixed with a few local San Diego breweries.

The Atmosphere: 3/5 Stars
Clearly the owners haven't changed much since taking over the location. The feel is entirely of a family-style Italian restaurant. That's not a negative, it's just that it's kind of boring. It's a small, comfy atmosphere, with their tables taken up by dates and friends enjoying the tasty burgers (I noticed that most of our fellow patrons were smart-- nobody had a plain burger, but opted for the far superior special burgers). There is art on the wall for sale, but other than that, nothing about the place stands out.

Overall: 3.5/5 Stars
Tioli's Crazy Burger is right on target with their name. Don't settle for their plain burger, as you won't be blown away. Get one of their "Crazy" burgers, and you'll wish that you had room for another one of their specialty burgers. Place your order at the register, order a German draught, and grab a seat. You will quickly blend into the restaurant, but once your food comes, you'll sit up and devour your burger. The taste is too good to not finish your burger, and your only regret is that you didn't come here for lunch to try another burger.

FOTB- Bare Back Grill

We head "south" to try out a taste of...

Bare Back Bar & Grill, a New Zealand inspired joint. Located in Pacific Beach on 4640 Mission Blvd, it's just far enough from the crowds of Garnet to not be too crowded, but you'll still find that it's close enough to make the parking situation a little frustrating.

The Food: 3.5/5 Stars
We ordered 2 baskets of fries for the table to split. Fantastic! If I stop my review right here, Bare Back easily receives a 5 star rating. The crispy fries are sprinkled with cracked pepper and some seasoning, and yes, they really are that good. The burger itself was good, but doesn't stand apart. I ordered the Queenstown Fave. The beef was tasty, but everyone's meal came in undercooked-- unacceptable. The BBG sauce didn't wow me over, but it should, because everything on the menu comes with it. The burgers were good portioned and filling, but not overwhelming. The burgers here just don't seperate themselves enough to deserve a better rating. But the fries do!

The Drinks: 3.5/5 Stars
Although Bare Back only offers beer and wine, it scores a couple of points to just beat an average rating. There is a choice selection of draft and bottled beers, but most are run-of-the-mill. You have draft and bottle options, but they are mainly macrobrews, Lite beers, with a couple of better options (No, not Corona. That beer still sucks, but you can score a Kona or something similar.) What they do have that scores them a bonus point or two is "their beer" and wine-based margaritas. Pyramid brews an amber ale for Bare Back and it is good. The look is more apple cider than beer, but it is tasty. I recommend a pitcher of it. Offering wine-based margaritas is a nice option. Most people can't tell the difference based on taste, but they pack less punch, allowing you to enjoy 1 or 2 without worrying about becoming overly inebriated.

The Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Stars
Very casual. There is amble seating, including a small outdoor patio that makes it easy to see the water as well as people watch. There are a couple of TV screens playing surf videos in the background. The space is large enough that people aren't really positioning themselves for the next table and they don't need to shout to be heard by their own table. Being PB, you will still run into some drunk assholes [Editor's note: We aren't sure who started the bantering, but our money is on our very mellow friend and not the hammered old dude who slurred his words.]

Overall: 3.5/5 Stars
Bare Back Grill is just an average place with great fries and good specials throughout the week. The specials make this place worth going to, not the burgers. Everything is casual and there's not wait, so if you want a low-key place, this spot is worth coming to if you don't want to hassle with a crowd. So fill up on food (be sure to get the fries) here before fighting the crowds on Garnet.

FOTB- Rocky's

We find ourselves at...

Rocky's Crown Pub is a local bar and grill in Pacific Beach located at 3786 Ingraham St. This is the Crown Point area, so it's in between PB and Mission Bay.

The Food: 4.5/5 Stars
The burgers here are really goooooood. The burgers are brought to the table and after dressing it up with the appropriate condiments, you just let it sit on the plate as you contemplate how you are going to attack it. I ordered the 1/2 lb Cheeseburger and as I kept scarfing down bite after bite, the juices were just dripping down my chin into the basket. Satisfying and delicious. It's a non-pretentious burger with great taste and no thrills. It sits in its basket, staring you down, until you finally muster the courage to make the move and eat it. Dinner conversation was stopped as we feasted on our burgers.

The Drinks: 2/5 Stars
The drink selection is quite limited. Their selection is virtually limited to what they have on tap: Bud, Bud Lite, Coors Lite, Miller Lite, and Sierra Nevada. I did see someone order 2 bottles of Corona and some chick looked pretty classy holding a glass of Sutter Home wine. [Editor's note: Does drinking Sutter Home at a local bar really make you classy?]

The Atmosphere: 4/5 Stars
Local bar. You walk in and see the bartender chatting it up with a couple of people seated at the bar and then turn over and ask about life as a familiar face sits up to the bar. Rocky's is tiny, so good luck finding a table, as seats are hard enough to come by. Which makes it a good thing that the crowd here is friendly. This trip, a fellow patron bought my first pitcher and previous outings, I have found myself sharing a table with newly made friends. It's extremely laid back and casual, and you can catch a couple of games on the various tvs throughout the establishment.

Overall: 4/5 Stars
Rocky's is a great place to go. It can get packed quickly, which is it's main negative characteristic. With a casual setting, it's a go-to place for a great burger and a pitcher of beer with a friend. You can catch the games' scores and easily start a conversation with people in there. Be prepared to wait as the crowd can grow quite large, lengthening the time for a burger and beer, but it's well worth the wait.

FOTB- The Waterfront

On to...

The Waterfront (http://www.waterfrontbarandgrill.com/thewaterfront/main.html) is a bar and grill situated on 2044 Kettner Blvd. This is north Little Italy, so access to I-5 is convenient.

With a solid Happy Hour from 4-7, you find yourself at the bar with a menu of discounted food and drinks. Open a tab and order a drink then go get yourself some of the free food that the Waterfront offers during happy hour. You read that correctly, free food. Now you can invite along that friend who "just ate" and doesn't want any food, but everyone really knows is just a cheap bastard.

The Food: 5/5 Stars
Their burgers are f*ing amazing. They come out big and juicy, just dripping with flavor. Condiments are brought out on a tray, so you get to heap on any amount of mustard, ketchup, mayo, etc. that you desire. But back to the burger itself. I ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger and it was everything I wanted: a big burger that had my mouth watering. I was caught in a time paradox: I wanted to scarf down my burger because it was that tasty, but I wanted every bite to last a lifetime so I could savor the flavor. [Editor's note: If you don't like spicy peppers, stay away from the peppers that come on the condiment tray. In the word's of a member of the Fellowship, "If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't eat that pepper."]

The Drinks: 3/5 Stars
The drink selection was average. The beers on tap were your standard fare: macrobreweries like Budweiser and Sam Adams, foreign beers like Stella Artois and Bass, along with the staples of Blue Moon, Sierra Nevada, and Fat Tire. They have a full bar, so if liquor is your poison, you're in luck.

The Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Stars
Old time bar with a mix of patrons. The bar is a tight fit and makes large groups impossible. Ideal seating is for 2-4 people per table, but you still find yourself kinda cramped. There's an open patio with tables outside for people-watching and a couple of tables jammed into the bar area. The walls are covered in old photos, so it's fun to check them out; they give a testament to how old this bar is. The people were a reasonable mix. Business casuals were there for the happy hour sitting next to people in tees and baseball caps. Hot bartender too, so if nobody in the crowd catches your attention, at least you have one person to check out.

Overall: 4/5 Stars
You must come here. The bar and clientele creates a casual atmosphere for you to enjoy your amazing burger and shoot the shit with a buddy. A bunch of TVs are tuned on to show you the daily Padres' game. I'm embarrassed to root for them too, so let me assure you that the pitchers of beer help as they lose yet another game.

FOTB- The Neighborhood

This is where our journey begins...

The Neighborhood (http://neighborhoodsd.com/) is a little establishment located in East Village on 777 G Street. This is downtown SD for those not aware and too lazy to use Google Maps.

We spent a bit of time, 10 minutes+, looking for parking in the area, and eventually had to park a couple of blocks away. No big deal, we can walk off some of the burger and beer... Only to find ourselves missing Happy Hour by 5 minutes!

Coincidentally, we arrived there on the day their new menu was unveiled, so my review is actually relevant! Our waitress brought us all menus and we began to scour over their good selection of beers. All except for one of our friends. His boyish good looks earned him the "kiddy" menu, the menu missing the entire beer selection. I'm guessing that the menu was priced pretty reasonably for being in downtown San Diego and it offered a reasonable variety of food choices.

The Food: 3.5/5 Stars
The food was pretty good. We split the fennel frites for an appetizer and it was good, kind of a mix between onion rings and fries. I split the Spicy Cajun Rubbed Burger and Jalapeno Mac and Cheese. The burger was pretty good, but not a conventional burger; served on a ciabatta- like bun with a side of potatoe chips, you won't find this combination too many other places. It was a tasty burger with a little bit of spice. The Jalapeno Mac and Cheese was a solid dish. It was thick pasta covered in melted Velveeta and the jalapenoes provided a nice kick, so wussies beware.

The Drinks: 5/5 Stars
The drink selection was awesome. It had quite a large selection of beers on tap and bottled beers to choose from. Not your most common selection either. It had some familiar faces, but there was quite a new selection with accompanying descriptions of what you were about to taste. The descriptions of the beers were longer than the descriptions of the food, so I have to give it to them that they've got their priorities straight.

The Atmosphere:
3/5 Stars
Urban hip with a casual crowd. The place had a bar and a smattering of tables. The crowd was mainly dates along with a group conversing over a couple of pints. Clean and nice, nothing wowed me except for their table decorations: a box of grass and these really cool table lights. The table lights were a soft rubber feeling, a little larger than a baseball. They put off a nice red glow, but apparently pretty expensive at $60 bucks a pop.

Overall: 3.5/5 Stars
I recommend this place as a date location. With a good selection of beers, you will both find something to your liking. The food is good and won't run off anyone, but it won't blow away your tastebuds. The decor is modern and the crowd isn't boisterous, so you don't have to yell over the crowd to woo your date, Cassanova.
